AVANT has partnered with Pfizer Inc to develop vaccines to protect livestock other animals from enteric diseases, as well as vaccines against the most prevalent bacterial pathogens associated with food safety.

The Pfizer research programs are making significant progress. In December 2002, AVANT received a milestone payment of $500,000 from Pfizer as a result of the submission of an application with the USDA for licensure of a food safety vaccine.
